THE 3 MOST POWERFUL GODS OF INDIAN MYTHOLOGY ("TRIMURTI")

The "Trimūrti" (sanskrit term "3 forms") is a concept in Hinduism "in which the cosmic functions of creationmaintenance, and destruction are personified by the forms of 3 gods Brahma the creator, Vishnu the preserver, and Shiva the destroyer or transformer.

  •   Brahma is the creator god in  the Trimurti of Hinduism. He has four faces,  looking in the four directions. Brahma is also  known as Svayambhu (self-born), Vāgīśa (Lord  of Speech), and the creator of the four Vedas,  one from each of his mouths.

  •  Vishnu is usually described as having dark  complexion of water-filled clouds and having four  arms. He is depicted as a pale blue being, as are his incarnations Rama and Krishna. He holds a padma (lotus flower) in his lower left hand, the Kaumodaki gada (mace) in his lower right hand, the Panchajanya shankha (conch) in his upper left hand and the discus weapon considered to be the most powerful weapon according to Hindu Religion Sudarshana Chakra in his upper right hand.

  •  Shiva is distinct from Vishnu and Brahman yet one with them. He is Anant, one who is neither found born nor found dead. Shiva also has many benevolent and fearsome forms. In benevolent aspects, he is depicted as an omniscient Yogi who lives an ascetic life on Mount Kailash, as well as a householder with wife Parvati and his two children, Ganesha and Kartikeya, and in fierce aspects, he is often depicted slaying demons. Shiva is also regarded as the patron god of yoga and arts.
